Rich-Allen 24
Topic. I'm having problems with O2 webmail again! I just went on the O2 web site to check my mail, logged in as normal, clicked on webmail, there's nothing there! I've refreshed the page several times to see if it's a cache issue, but to no avail. I know the previous problem was because I checked my mail on my Iphone, and you have to wait a while after doing that before it shows up on the web again, but I haven't checked my mail on the Iphone since this morning. Can anyone tell me what the problem is before I make a pointless and probably highly annoying phone call to O2 tech support?

It's easier to just use an email client like Mozilla Thunderbird.

I just set my O2 email up in Outlook Express, which is fine as a temporary solution, but would probably become annoying long term.
SC_GMP_BDIV 128
I just set my O2 email up in Outlook Express, which is fine as a temporary solution, but would probably become annoying long term. why is it annoying? If it downloads your emails for you automatically then surely that is easier than logging in to o2's website to retrieve it yourself?
Rich-Allen 24
So, I rang O2 customer service earlier, spoke to some woman with a baffling Scottish accent, and after 35 minutes and 15 seconds on the phone at 35p a minute (I had to ring 118 118 to get the number and they transferred me) I'm still none the wiser as to why my emails seem to have gone, I explained that I downloaded several emails yesterday in Outlook Express, they said that wasn't the problem, and that there was a problem at their end, eh?! Why the hell did it take them over half an hour at 35p a minute to tell me that?!

All my mails come via Windows Mail (formally known as Outlook Express!)

Rich-Allen 24
www.saynoto0870.com O2's number is an 0800 number, free from BT Landlines.. The cost was from being transferred by 118 118 at 35p a minute.

That's ridiculous charges - why not just hang up once you've got the number and dial it yourself?

cplowman 0
@Rich: Why, by using a default OS based (as opposed to webmail) email client is it annoying, or why would it 'probably become annoying'? Surely, merely opening up an email program and allowing it to download the mail for you from the server, without having to open a browser, navigate to the site, log in etc etc is far, far more preferential than logging into webmail???? Plus, why on earth would you call 118118 for O2's number (when you could have found it on the internet easily enough, or called customer services direct from your O2 phone) and then rant about the 35p a minute cost because you asked 118118 to connect you?????????????????????????????? Then, why on earth would such nonsensical behaviour trigger such a response in me that I feel compelled to write on the most irrelevant thread in history???????????????????????????? Like Earl said, if he had done all the things you suggest then he woouldnt have reason to create this thread, have a pointless rant and offend anyone with a scottish accent ( i know loads of scotts and dont find anything baffling about their accents!) As I have explained NUMEROUS times before, I am deaf, and have a communication disorder, therefore I have difficulty understanding people with different accents, especially when they talk fast like the woman I spoke to earlier, I had to tell her to slow down and speak clearly as I'm deaf. I cannot help this problem, if I could, I would. Do you see?

Do you see? Yes I understand how that could make it dificult for you, but... you have posted numerous derogatory comments on here regarding other peoples accents. The scottish one earlier in this post and comments about foreign call centres instantly spring to mind. Whilst i appreciate that you may have difficulties due to your disability, it is no excuse for writing the way you do about people with accents. Do you see? cplowman 0
Rich: When people post questions of you - PLEASE ANSWER THEM, instead of quoting solely those posts which you WANT to answer with a retort regarding your disability. So, regardless of your hearing difficulties, please answer the following: - Why did you create this thread? - Why is it potentially 'annoying' to have an OS based meail client instead of webmail? - Why did you contact O2 through 118118 and not alternative, and certainly much cheaper, means? I am sure you will agree that none of these questions are remotely offensive, more inquisitive, and none have anything to do with disability, benefits, or the Daily Mail.
