maka 7
okay so i have just about had it with the bus and traffic. people annoy me traffic annoys me, and the endless start stop and having to leave for work up to 95 mins early is just plain silly. cars are pricey and expensive, so, any advice on a simple twist and go on a budget? Hi I have a 50cc scooter, fab to ride about (bit nippy in Winter, but dressed right and gritted roads no problem). Theres not a lot of 2nd hand ones floating about, often those that are about have been ragged about by a 16 year old who does not believe in servicing either. I've had a Daelim (was great, but got stolen and trashed), I've not got a Peugeot which is much older and has a few issues due to age like the fuel sensor does not work, but nothing too serious and rides great. If it's cheap there's probably a reason. Make sure you have waterproof trousers they stop the wind too when it's not wet. Cheers Andrew

maka 7
burmp-der-deeburmp. another question for traffic cops or two wheelers. say i get a 50cc that is restricted to 30mph, and i can legally drive an 125cc on L's could i legally de-restrict a scooter so a 50cc goes over 30mph. that tiny extra bit of nip could save me some money. i also have heard getting a 4 stroke wont sound as much like an angry wasp

I have a 4 stroke 125cc with catalitic convertor and it's purrs like a cat! Edited February 10, 2009 by pmtts
maka 7
i meant a 49cc is capable of more than just 30mph, its only 30mph due to the "Kids" getting them at 16 i believe. it might only do 40/45 de-restrict. but im looking into it as the cost of a 50cc is much lower than 125cc also insurance wise, being on a CBT for the initial period til i go for my (a) licence for light motorcycles later on. a 500cc would cost me about 349 a year to insure. thats TPFT based on a sym symply 50 (49cc) the excess was £500 is that normal?!?! Well the highest ive come across for a 16 year old is £350 excess but I now have jnr on my policy. Bennets are a good bike insurer but it pays to shop about. A friend of mine refuses to have an excess on his policy but obviously his monthly premiums are that much higher.
