A street cleaner is in a life-threatening condition after he was stabbed when he tried to stop a suspected burglar in west London. The Hammersmith and Fulham Council worker was stabbed in the chest on Rylett Road, Shepherd's Bush, at about 14:00 BST on Wednesday. He was taken by air ambulance to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. The council's deputy leader Greg Smith said it was shocking an "act of bravery should end in such brutal violence". He added: "Everyone at the council is thinking of our brave colleague at this difficult time. "We understand that the police investigation is ongoing and we are hopeful that an arrest will be made soon." Police said the suspect w…

Hey all you hard working cops out there, my pet hate always was fully fit cops hiding away in offices being desk jockeys. Ive retired in the last few weeks and because the service can be a very vindictive organisation I was never allowed to air these views fully. At the nick I worked at in my last six months there was the diabolical situation whereby there were two fully fit, young, capable officers working mainly 9-5, coming and going as they pleased, own clothes days etc etc.....you get the picture ? All they did all day was to contact ASB victims, compile statements, piddle about with injunctions, task PCSO's and Specials. I could actually hear the mournful strains of …

A police officer has been found guilty of assaulting a motorist and his teenage passenger after stopping the driver for using a mobile phone. PC Karl Bartlett, 42, of the Territorial Support Group, was found guilty at Westminster Magistrates' Court of common assault. The court heard Lee Rosier, 24, and his 14-year-old passenger were pulled over near Hangar Lane on 1 March 2011. Bartlett opened the car door, pulled Mr Rossier out and headbutted him. Mr Rosier was driving home from a classic car rally in west London when he was attacked. He and his passenger were left with cut lips and abrasions after the assault. Bartlett will be sentenced on 2 April. Fellow officer…

http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1587666_riot-officer-to-face-perverting-course-of-justice-charge-in-probe-into-policing-of-edl-demo-in-bolton Is this being hung out to dry and trial by Media. The video footage, to me, shows a mob of protesters who are breaking the law. Grabbing and pushing officers, which is an assault. It now appears that Society, and Police Officers, must be contented with this type of behaviour. The IPCC really should drop the word “Independent” from the title. Bob is only interested in maintaining Law and Order. I hope that he gets the full and correct backing from the SMT, but I am sceptical on that point. It also giv…

A police website has been hacked, leading to the publication of what appear to be login details and passwords for dozens of officers. Hertfordshire Police said information stored on an externally hosted database had been published on the internet. The data, including phone numbers and IP addresses, relates to a number of officers in Safer Neighbourhood Teams. Part of the force's website has been taken down as a "precaution" while investigations continue. In a statement, the force said: "Hertfordshire Constabulary is currently investigating following the publication on the internet of information stored on a database linked to the public Safer Neighbourhoods pages of t…

Policeman cancels call for back-up after seeing reflection of his own car It's crucial to make a good impression when you start a new job - but a rookie policeman ensured he will be the butt of jokes for years to come after mistaking the reflection of his patrol car for back-up. Related Tags: Durham Cleveland Police Where's a policeman when you need one? Right behind you - or so one office mistakenly thought. The unnamed PC was one of several sent to investigate a late-night disturbance at an address in Hartlepool, Co. Durham, and radioed to tell HQ he was at the right address ‘because I can see another panda car’. However, baffled control room staff told hi…
