    Last year the Scottish police minister was up in arms about armed officers going on routine patrol and dealing with run of the mill jobs, so much so that IIRC Police Scotland changed their policy about routine deployment. The Dyfed Powys PCC Chris Salmon has now commissioned a survey to ask the public what they think about armed officers in his area attending routine jobs. I think this raises a couple of issues. First the deployment of officers is an operational matter for the CC and shouldn't be anything to do with the PCC.     Kent Police have said that from June this year they will stop dealing with lost/found property. Kent Police claim it will stop running lost property services from June because it is "not a police matter". A Kent Police spokesman said: "Lost property is not a police matter and from June, Kent Police will only accept recovered property which poses a risk to the public, such as identification, firearms and items believed to be associated with crime. "People who find lost property are advised to take reasonable steps to reunite it with its rightful owner, such as advertising its discovery on social media and putting posters up in the area it was found."
