https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/65377091 The government has reached its target to recruit 20,000 more police officers in England and Wales Only 3,500 higher than it was in 2010 though. Still a net gain but the 20000 number is rather misleading in that context. Have forces lowered standards in order to reach their recruitment targets, and could that cause scandals or other problems as officers who really shouldn't be in the job go out on the streets? I also heard that resignations are quite high, as well as anyone who can retire doing so at the first opportunity, so what is the plan going forward?
