Latest news CCTV released in hunt for murder suspect 25/01/2017 Detectives hunting a man who stabbed a passenger on a Birmingham bus on Monday evening (23 January) have released CCTV of the suspect. A 36-year-man died after suffering multiple stab wounds following an altercation on the top deck of the number 11A bus on Rookery Road, Handsworth just after 10.30pm. The suspect is described as a black man, believed to be aged between 25 and 30 and has short dreadlocks. At 10.43pm last night (Monday 23 January) police received a call from a member of the public reporting that a passenger had been attacked. Officers and other emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene in Rookery Road, Handsworth, where a 35-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds on the upper deck of the bus. Latest news Life sentence for man who strangled ex-partner 24/01/2017 A man has been found jailed for life for strangling his ex-partner to death at her West Bromwich home. Leroy Sterling, of Guns Lane in West Bromwich, was charged with murdering Wendy Mann in her Chapel Street flat in August 2015. Following a two week trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court a jury returned their verdict today (24 January) finding him guilty. Wendy’s body was discovered at the address by concerned relatives who could not get hold of her on 28 August 2015. Emergency services were called to the flat but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Mark Graham, aged 46 from Everdon Road, Holbrooks, was sentenced to four and half years in jail at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday (Monday 23 January). Graham had been convicted of nine counts of racially aggravated harassment and one count of attempted racially aggravated harassment at an earlier court hearing following a two- week trial. Latest news Man appears in court following Lozells stabbing 21/01/2017 A 44-year-old man appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning (Saturday 21 January) charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. Following his appearance, Irshad Hussain, of Lozells Street, in the Lozells area of Birmingham was remanded in custody until February 20 when he will appear again at crown court. Gerald Goddard, aged 58, from Solihull, passed away in hospital on 4 January.
