Hi all, i've been lurking about for a while but thought it was time I got involved. I know this has been asked numerous times but I was wondering if anyone had any force specific information based on this. I've applied as a special and always presumed my eyesight would pass but from my test today I am not so sure. It states corrected vision must be: 6/12 or better with either your right or left eye 6/6 with both eyes together If you wear spectacles or contact lenses you also need to reach 6/36 without your spectacles or lenses. From today I know my corrected vision is 6/5 for both eyes and binoculary, so fine but my unaided is 6/60 for right and 6/24 for left. Unsu…

I was just wondering if anyone who has been a special for Durham for any amount of time ever had the opportunity to apply to become a regular officer internally rather than just when there has been external recruitment as well (like in february 2012). Hi, I'm a serving special with NorPol but spend most of my term time in Durham City. I read somewhere that you can use Aykley Heads gym for £17.50, is this true for ordinary people or do you have to be part of Durham Constabulary? Regards,

hi all. im in the process of making a radio controlled bmw x5 based on the new durham constabulary and cleveland traffic unit,the vehicle is currently stripped awaiting spraying in white,it will have fully working wig wag lights and a multi pattern lightbar once the order has been made and shipped from the states. livery will be made and fitted by richie humphreys of t.o.t models. hopefully this model will be finished in the next few months. cheers dave

When she jumped into the water they got in and managed to find the woman in the dark before dragging her out, in September 2009. They will receive certificates from the Royal Humane Society.

Does anyone know the Durham policy for allowing regular officers to join as Specials once they leave the service? I am intending on going back to University this September but neither Durham, Northumbria, North Yorkshire or Cleveland are recruiting transferees/re-joiners at the moment.
