Hi, First post here.. Will probably head over to the introductions section next.. Just wondering if there have been many people joining the forum looking for guidance etc. since the Beds specials recruitment opened up or am I the only one! Seems quiet in here! I've applied and have my assessment centre on Saturday 13th May - nervous but looking forward to it! Anyone else? Also, probably something that is difficult to answer but does anyone know the volumes of people who get shortlisted to attend the assessment centres and how many it cuts down to for the next steps? Just trying to manage my own expectations!! Rich

Not sure exactly what to expect from a 20 minute interview and how to prepare for it :/ ? Any general advice or areas to look at to help? Would be appreciated. Thanks.

The ninth anniversary of the untimely death of PC 5584 Jon Henry will be marked with the force’s traditional memorial on the spot where he died. On 11 June 2007 popular officer Jon was brutally murdered in George Street, Luton, while responding to a report of a man attacking members of the public with a knife. Jon was first at the scene and carried out his duty to protect the public by courageously coming between the suspect and potential victims. He paid the ultimate price that day when he was stabbed twice, sustaining fatal wounds. This Saturday (11 June), nine years on from Jon’s death, senior officers and those who served alongside Jon will host a sh…

Hi, I have before done an assessment and passed so I know what to expect but I can't ask this in my force area as no one seems to be on there. My other force I passes with never had maths but my new force bedfordshire does. Does anyone have any tips on This as I really really was not the best with maths at school. A simple 4 +4 is fine but percentages etc I'm no good at. With the written test I understand not much can be said, again in my old force area it was a simple. My new force area apparently uses witness statements in which you have to write a report. Is this along the same lines as the fake shopping centre one? Read, and pretty much write what's said but …
