andychristopher 0
Does anyone have experience of a CV writing service for officers approaching retirement? I know the Met provide a guide but was wondering if anyone had used a professional service and what the experience was like? Thx
OldAfricaHand 1,846
Having a generic cv is good because it will enable you to get down on paper all the information about skills, experience, qualifications etc. However, you also need to consider the importance of adapting the cv to focus its emphasis on meeting the specific need of a particular job for which you are applying. One thing that is important is that the generic cv is short - maybe two A4 pages - this is particularly important if you are cold-mailing companies seeking job opportunities. If you cv is short and very focused - on what you can do for the company - it is more likely to be read by an HR person. When cold-mailing a cv, it is best to try to identify the appropriate HR or recruitment manager and address it to them rather than "the HR department" - it is more likely to be seen by someone with some interest. Hope you are successful. If you want any specific advice, by all means send me a PM. Cheers
