Car Headlight Bulbs

I’m in the market for some new dipped beam bulbs (H7s) - what are your recommendations?

I’ve just binned an Osram Night Breaker which lasted me about 9 months, probably more to do with the fact I smashed my car than the life of the bulb but I’ll replace the set together.

Read good things about the GE Megalights but interested to see how they compare to Night Breakers as they are a little more expensive.

I'm similarly using Night Breakers. Fitted them over 2 years back because the factory fit ones were like candles.

When I upgraded my car and needed new bulbs a few years ago I did loads of research and went for some high end ‘50% brighter’ ones at £20+. Not only did I not notice any difference in their performance one also blew in less than a year.
Mentioned it to my trusted local garage owner who advised me that it’s all marketing buncum. A 55 watt bulb is 55 watts. He gave me a pair of his £2 ones that have lasted three years now and are just as bright as the premium brand ones, to my eye.

That is kind of true, but the colour temperature/tone of the bulb makes a huge difference. My old ones were orange toned, and you couldn't see a thing. The replacement bulbs are a much bluer light, and everything is clearer.
