I'm all for robust policing and sometimes you need to have a fight.

Today wasn't that day. The officer seemed quite good and reasonable with the mother but for some reason went into self destruct mode with the lad.

Though it was fair with no weapons, it was 1 on 1 at least until the end and it was mutual combat. In Washington state that would have been legal.

So unprofessional, he really didn't need to provoke the guy, and he shouldn't have let the guy's anger affect him so much. Was the bodycam footage near the end of the video from another officer? If so, how did the other officer feel about the incident?

I read the second officer reported him to a supervisor.

Legal or not. That is not the way for a police officer to act.

Ironically, the police officer was the victim of racist abuse here.

He lost it, but would be very curious to see the outcome if this had happened in the UK.  It would certainly have the extreme left wing idiots scratching their heads.

They would just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen. It still wouldn't count because of all the other times the police have been racist themselves.
