Well I've signed up to my local gym to 'Get in shape' Have my PST refresher towards end of January. Making sure I walk everywhere too. Will see how it goes!

I've unfortunately completed my annual unwanted fat gain.

Rocking in at 16st again so I have decided I will again do something about it.

Am doing regular push-ups with a bit of jogging to increase my poor fitness level.

Started in October, weighing 210lbs - managing about 5-8 push-ups. Now at 188lbs and can easily do 18-20 push-ups.

Getting there!

I'm a member of a Virgin Active gym near to where I live. I try and go about 4 times a week. Do a mix of cardio and weights, then hit the spa!

Aren't the Virgin gyms really expensive?

£10 a year for the gym in work which also gets me cheap cinema tickets amongst other things! Do that a couple of times a week along with football and rugby and that's my fitness sorted.

Yep indeed, £10 a year. They have treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machines, cycling machines as well as weight machines and free weights so it's decent too. And they also run classes such as pilates, circuits and yoga.

I guess the one at HQ is not an option unless you are posted or live near. my sister lives across the road and is always in it.

I am with the council. £18 a month for gym and swim. It's ok.

I also walk everywhere. i am currently 103kg 16.4 stone and I think around 224lbs I just bought some new scales so I could tell.

2015 will be the year I lose this for good I am determined

I guess we can but try.

Uppy89, That sounds pretty good value to me,just renewed mine the other day actually for two hundred and twenty, fortunately for me they were doing a promotion in November so got mine sixty pounds cheaper,I go three times a week normally for an hour on the various things about ten of them I think, the best bit is the spa pool, steam room/sauna when I've finished, but don't think its any good for getting weight off,I could do with half a stone off, I don't even think I've got a lot fitter after a year at it,but it's not doing me any harm, as long as I can run for about five minutes (which I can just)to pass the bleep test next year that will do me.Rich.

I was going to say the same thing - as long as you can pass the annual test you will be able to give foot chase so all will be ok :)

Maybe we should share tips on here for healthy eating etc? seems my shakes and sachet meals were the wrong approach :(

I have started a moderately decent diet - my breakfasts are either cereal or a slimfast shake, a couple of snacks through the day (fruit, homemade beef jerky or carrot sticks), dinner is 95% of the time baked chicken in some marinate, some sweetcorn with green beans or broccoli... once or twice a week I have a "free day" and get a takeaway or eat out...

Water, lots and lots of water, *sometimes* with squash, except again, on the free day I'll have a coke or a milkshake...

Interesting.

I have porridge or a shake in the morning and then I do eat about every 3 hours to keep the metab kicking over. In the evening I might have chicken salad or a meat pie and I have tonnes of veg - literally the same as you, I love green beans I can never eat enough. Cauliflower and Broccoli also

I drink a fair amount of water probably 2 litres a day but some many people have said that you can also drink coke Zero which I do once or twice a week, There's nothing in it bar 2g of salt and an entire bottle (1.75ml) is 7 calories. So I get my sugar hit and I don't put the weight back on. I had a can or ordinary coke today by accident - the sugar almost made me vomit. You sure can tell the difference.
