This is the shocking moment when an off-duty policeman crashed into a car and seriously injured a married couple as he pulled out to overtake while towing his caravan on a busy road. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13005227/moment-duty-police-devastating-crash-husband-wife-hospital.html Looking at video i fail to see why he tried to overtake when it shows no cars parked when hit the other car, but due to this he might be dismissed from the police for the collision.

I think the technology itself could be useful, but it should only be used on people you actually have grounds to search. For example detaining someone for a search, giving them a quick scan with this to give the officer a heads up on anything to look out for prior to the physical pat down. Using it to scan people at random as they walk down high streets se…

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/jan/22/illegal-abortions-prosecutions-uk-police-royal-college Medical staff in the UK should not report women to the police if they believe their patients may have illegally ended their own pregnancy, a professional body is to say. Interested where police officers stand on this kind of issue. I can see why they don't want them to report, but a professional body encouraging people not to report a crime seems rather unusual.

Chief Constable Lucy D'Orsi, said: “As I have commented previously on behalf of the British Transport Police (BTP), I am sincerely sorry for the trauma suffered by the British African community through the criminal actions of former police officer DS Derek Ridgewell who worked in BTP during the 1960s and 70s.
