I hate being told what's coming up in the next five minutes and then being reminded what happened in the last five minutes.

4 jobs spread over an hour, shame BBC let it go. I don't want to see a traffic sergeant drive to a court, hope it improves

Glad Jamie stayed with the show, not the same without his narration.

Managed to put a face to the voice in the first episode too!

After more than 13 years of watching traffic cops (and other stuff he narrated a year or 2 before that, e.g shops, robbers & videotape), it was weird finally seeing Jamie Theakston's face!

I was watching a  police type programmes the other night,it might have been a "traffic cops" actually so I think I might just get away with this post here.   Well I say watching, I was half asleep or dozing in my chair. What brought me to full attention was a police officer talking to a motorist who I think was from Hong Kong or somewhere similar, his English wasn't perfect but it wasnt bad by any means and certainly a lot better than my Cantonese.

This guy kept calling the officer "madam",what made me sit up was when I heard the words "don't call me madam" from the police officer, she didn't seem to be at all happy with this but I couldn't just work out why. He was probably just as perplexed as I was, he seemed a nice enough man. I have been called "sir" plenty of times and it didn't bother me bit, i have called members of the public sir and madam for donkeys years and I don't recall any objections. How do officers like to be called? Officer,constable/sgt  etc I suppose. . It would have botherered  me a lot more if someone called me matey or pal or copper though. I was  called grandad by this young lad once, (that did hurt)We had a chief inspector once in the seventies who didn't like being called "marm" either, she was a very nice lady. Rich.
