MajorDisaster + 579
When they pulled the shoplifting gang out of their car a record was set for the 'fastest caution'!
David + 4,981
As much as I am a dog lover myself, I found it hard to justify those officers spending so long faffing about with that dog as long as they did. I guess they couldn't do much else with the cameras on them and the howls of protest they knew they'd face if they'd told the irresponsible owner it was her problem and drive off. rosco + 651
As much as I am a dog lover myself, I found it hard to justify those officers spending so long faffing about with that dog as long as they did. I guess they couldn't do much else with the cameras on them and the howls of protest they knew they'd face if they'd told the irresponsible owner it was her problem and drive off. I was guessing that they would have resumed and left the dog to his own devices if a call came in that they were needed for. But still it did tie them up from doing anything proactive. Sometimes the consequences of dealing with dogs can be worse in a policing context. I ended up dealing with one one time that we saw running on the streets. We managed to eventually corner it after quite some time chasing it on car and foot, only for it to bite me on the hand. I then had to be taken to hospital for a tetanus shot, injury on duty form filled in and signed off for the rest of the shift, so it took myself and a couple of colleagues off operational duties for a good few hours. To top it all off, the Sgt got rather p***ed when the owner didn't even say thank you for getting their dog back!
Richhamdo + 877
rosco, I also wouldn't have been at all surprised if they had just made a "sharp exit" after having delivered the dog to the owner., but felt as the camera was watching their every move couldn't just get away with it and had to grit their teeth.I can also imagine that the producer couldn't believe his or her luck when the dog ran off, they just love things like that, little ducklings wandering across the road to the nearest stream, swans on the motorway, a couple of runaway bullocks in the local pub carpark, if they had been around a few years ago they might have made something of me rescuing a little kitten from the top of a tree, it looked a bit like the one in the photo actually, except it was black and a bit older, it's a good job there were no mobiles about then to record the goings on that night as it went higher and higher. .That job tied myself and my reg partner, (he held the ladder so I could get to the first limb) up for well over half an hour all told, maybe longer one Friday night. It was one of my favourite/satisfying jobs actually when I handed this old lady in her dressing gown the little kitty.it had been up the tree for three days,(allegedly)or so we were told by control. Then there were all the jobs too numerous to mention over the years involving a lot of running up and down roads in the middle of nowhere in all weathers chasing after cows and sheep to get them back to where they first belonged. These animals in all probability had decided much earlier on that there was some good eating on the grass verges and so had waited untill dark to plan their escape, they can't fool me.Rich.
