Wikicop20 + 186 Posted October 6, 2021 Share Posted October 6, 2021 This is a documentary about the Pontifical Swiss Guard (GSP) (the Pope's private military force, not technically the Vatican's Army). There is also the Gendarmeria Vaticana (Vatican State Police) who the armed police-security force of Vatican City State. They generally carry do the more police, traffic, crime stuff, whilst the Swiss Guard are more of a bodyguard for the Pope. Interestingly, they are armed (mostly SIG firearms), when they put their halberd down. This is a bit dated, but some of it is still current I'm sure.
