BBC iPlayer: Fourteen Days in May

Recommended Posts

An excellent BBC documentary (1987) about a death row inmate in Mississippi who is due to die in the gas chamber for killing a town marshal.

Talks to corrections officers, the convicted, other prisoners, the Superintendent of the penitentiary.

Explores the issues of:

- moral issues

- race and fairness

- time in prison

- faith and death

- carrying out a professional execution

- the law

It’s proper 80s with chain gangs etc. The convicted’s lawyer is British I think.
