Since I work in the IT industry, I have decided to start my own computer repair firm on the side to my main job.

I have called it Alphabyte Solutions and I am based between Newmarket and Cambridge.

I am a fully qualified Microsoft technician and I offer a homecall service at a callout fee of £25 which includes the first hour then £25 p/h after that, if I cannot fix your PC I shall take it away and only charge you the standard callout fee of £25 no matter how long I have been there. If I cannot still fix it after that then I offer a no fix no fee policy.

My website is www.alphabytesolutions.co.uk it is still under construction and shall be live later this week. Feel free to email me on the email contained on the page.

If you don't live near me don't worry as I offer a remote access service as well with one click of the button I can be on your computer, if you have a working broadband connection of course and I can diagnose the problem from here.

I offer all manor of services including but not limited to;

1. Complete system failure

2. Installing additional hardware like Broadband, Printers, Scanners, Software Packages etc

3. Removing Adaware, Spyware and Viruses

4. Performing upgrades

5. Installing wireless networks

6. Training

I also work with business users as well;

Alphabyte Solutions offers a dedicated IT support service for small and medium businesses, covering all IT requirements, including Servers, PCs, laptops and peripherals. Our business support service is ideal for companies without a dedicated internal IT resource, ensuring that your systems are in safe-hands and leaving you to focus on managing the day-to-day business.

We understand that for most organisations, IT is critical to the success of your business. We are therefore 100% committed to ensuring that it's 'business as usual' even if things go wrong.

Our technicians have the expertise to create an IT system which fits with your specific requirements.

In the interest of security, PC Service avoids the hype of the latest "must have" software or hardware, choosing instead to use established and proven technologies, offering you reliability and total peace of mind.

Feel free to contact me for any IT related queries by email or phone.

Sounds good! Very reasonable prices as well.

I might be moving up to your direction in the future, so I'll keep you in mind. :eek:

Good luck with the new company, buddy!

One quick tip: Because your services are local, it's a good idea to use your town name and area on your web pages quite frequently. You want to be found when someone googles "computer repair Newmarket" or something like that, so it's a good idea to add that to your page.

A good primer on SEO can be found here.

Best of luck, looks like fun!

Thanks for the advice, web design is the only place I fall down on with regards to IT, I am currently doing a few courses and the page I have built I wanted to do it myself even though its not very good and its only the mark 1 version, so any tips I am happy to receive :eek:

I am now also on freeindex

With those prices, it's a wonder you can pay for you're liability insurance....

That's funny, I was thinking of tapping in my experience as an IT tech to do the same thing! I just thought the market was saturated with other people doing it too!

It's only £25 a month. How much did you think it was??

Go for it just because other people are doing it, does not mean you could not offer a better service?

Hay there,

It's good that you have started this business. A computer repair is one of the hot businesses out there. People mess with computer and call you for fixing it... lol....

But this way you can only attend limited customers and can not expand nation wide. You need to think something new and unique. A better way to do that will be cshotline. You can expand quickly & retain high margin...

All the best for your business...
