 Hello everyone!

My name is Natalie Acheampong. I am a paralegal with a postgraduate degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice. I was wondering if there are police officers here who have attended MARACs or know of them and would like to anonymously participate in my study? I'm really struggling to find police officers who have attended MARACs!

This project is sponsored by the TuWezeshe Akina Dada Africa-UK Young Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Movement, a fellowship funded by Comic Relief.

PROJECT

‘Track my MARAC’, (MARAC is a Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) is a project I launched in April 2018. It focuses on research and advocacy to produce a report that reviews the possibilities of a more effective MARAC process. This will accumulate in a roundtable/lecture being hosted next year March in London whereby I introduce the report that addresses the challenges MARACs face and what can be done to achieve a more effective MARAC process.

AIM

The two aims of my project are as follows:

1.     To write a report about MARACs, highlighting its objectives, challenges and opportunities.

2.     Present this to relevant stakeholders with a view of advocating for improvement of MARACs at a roundtable discussion.

If you are interested in anonymously taking part in my study, see below:

I WOULD LIKE YOU TO

1.     It would be greatly appreciated if I could interview you for 10 minutes and incorporate your feedback as a stakeholder into my report. This is completely anonymous. I do not need to take any information from you, I don't even need your first name if you don't want me to have it. To participate in this interview, please fill out a 2-minute anonymous survey about your opinions on MARACs if you have sat in one or know of them. I will then contact you by phone or skype to get more narrative on your answer on how MARACs can be improved and what you think works and doesn't work for MARACs.

I would also really appreciate it if you could share my survey with people who have engaged with MARACs to some degree! I am very passionate about domestic violence. Police officers attend MARACs as a key agency, but my study is lacking responses and perspectives from police officers. It would be really helpful if any police officer who has engaged in MARACs or knows of them, participates in my study!

If you have any questions, my email is [email protected] My mobile number is available for those partaking in my study.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Natalie
