Two police chiefs have warned that they face having to cut the number of officers in their forces if shortfalls in their budgets are not addressed. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/police-chiefs-warn-of-possible-cuts-to-officer-numbers-amid-budget-shortfalls/ar-AA1vBJLO?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=26b88ae1dc414e6c9189e436faf3441b&ei=25 Time now the government got to grips with giving more money to fund our police and not cut the force down to the bare bone by getting rid of officers what we need is more police officers not less.😠

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crmnjg818yeo A man sprayed in the face with an incapacitant gas at close range by a special constable has been paid £22,300 in damages by Merseyside Police. After watching the video I am struggling to see how the officer could have justified spraying the suspect. But it went to court and the officer was found not guilty, then a misconduct investigation found no case to answer, so perhaps the video doesn't give us the full story.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/keir-starmer-reset-speech-labour-neighbourhood-police-officers-b1198166.html Every neighbourhood in England and Wales will have a named, contactable police officer, Sir Keir Starmer will promise as he lays out his “plan for change” on Thursday. Isn't this kind of what NPT already aims to do, with specific officers dealing with local issues? A total of 540 individuals wanted for criminal offences ranging from shoplifting to rape have been apprehended by the Metropolitan Police Service (Met) through the use of Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology. https://news.met.police.uk/news/metropolitan-police-makes-over-500-arrests-this-year-using-live-facial-recognition-technology-491534 My own opinion is glad police are using this Technology to catch the people wanted.👍
