Traffic Rat + 287
Help please folks, Yes I've done the stupid thing somehow of instead of moving my photos from my phone memory to a new larger SD card I have somehow managed to end up with them deleated instead. Could of been my fat fingers , it could of been the phone, it could of been aliens for all I know. I know, I know at this point you are laughing your whatsits off thinking "***" but there you go. [emoji1] [emoji1] Can anyone recommend a suitable app or program for a PC to scan both my phone and SD card to try and recover my photos. Some appear to only work on rooted phones or only scan the C drive of the PC and not the SD card etc. Oh and I don't want to pay a fortune for it either, rather not pay anything if it's on freeware. Phone is HTC Desire 610 on Android 4.4. Thanks in advance for any useful suggestions
pete76 + 77
Hi Mate Not sure if this will work also not sure if it's free or not but try it When you got it back get a free dropbox account and it will back everything up for you so you won't lose it Edit: I never saw the text but it's still worth a shot http://www.recovering-deleted-files.net/android-data-recovery can also try diskdigger Edited November 11, 2014 by Pete76

Bravo Sierra + 263
Recuva is very good, but I would get the memory card in to the PC and not connected via the phone so it scans it.https://www.piriform.com/recuva
Techie1 + 2,024
I thought the correct answer was take it to the hi-tech crime dept, with a case of beer? [emoji3] I second the above though, install dropbox!
GotTheBlues 40
I'll second that. Prevention is better than cure. Get Dropbox so it doesn't happen again!
Dave + 93
Or set it up to sync with Google Photos. 15GB free storage, and if your images are below a certain size then they dont even count towards the storage. http://www.google.com/intl/ALL_uk/+/learnmore/photos/
FriSp 14
I managed to get a 40gb dropbox free of charge so that's worth a look. Bit of a pain when they sync but I would recommend it saves losing any previous memories

Login to http://photos.google.com with the Google account you used to set up the phone to see if your pictures have been synced. Edit: As has been mentioned Recuva is a good free choice. Traffic Rat + 287
Cheers guys, yes it was stupid of me. Phone was linked to my Google cloud, but some how lost the link. Managed to get most back via iCare data recovery. Get 100 recovered free in demo so using 2 PC's got the main ones back. Lesson learnt
pete76 + 77
I must admit I have been very cautious of Cloud stuff but since I started using Chrome and backing up all my bookmarks and passwords I've found it usefull. I just dumped MS for everything because Google can do for £3 a month what MS wanted £12 for - and that includes unlimited drive space. I also find that my domain mixed with gmail works a treat and although I have never liked Google scanning my e-mails turns out that in the business and education world they don't - infact the ToS says that it's off unless I am stupid enough to turn it on. So all in all I side with the guys and gals here. Often there is a 2 year dropbox deal with most android phones - the 15GB free with Drive is also good. it's pics over full HD size that use up your space only.
