This video annoyed me more that most in recent memory...

Absolute idiot behind the camera.

FFS, the woman is literally slapping away at police officers eyes and faces but they get criticised by these complete tools for daring to restrain her in a perfectly proportionate way?!

Sign of the time perhaps?

Does the person filming honestly have an issue with the police response, or are they only looking for likes and retweets?

You know the answer to that ;)

Truth is, right now 'the internet' loves to criticise the police and there are plenty of people happy to be influenced by that and jump on the bandwagon.

She shouldn't have been grabbed round the neck?

She should have been PAVAed and strikes used? Tapered? Batoned?

As far as I can see the minimum force was used - far less than could be used still quite reasonably.

I would say that we shouldn't care about tools like the bloke recording as their outlook will never change....but unfortunately this anti-police rhetoric is spreading like wild fire.

A cross section of the public are more desensitised to violent criminal attacks on officers than legitimate use of force.

Of course we should be held to a higher standard, but it's swung too far the other way I think.

Not long ago someone tried to full force football kick me in the head during an arrest but luckily caught my chest. It was all on CCTV and they only got a caution. If the roles were reversed and I'd put the boot in like that it'd be all over the news, I'd (righty) be investigated and probably lose my job but I doubt I'd just get a slap on the wrist for it.

In Britain assaults on police are pretty much accepted as part of the job and it's completely wrong.

No, you'd be in prison.

Which irks me.

I'm all for stiff prison sentences handed to corrupt police officers.

However use of force by police is such a minefield that I really struggle to ever agree with most use of force complaints which lead to disciplinary action let alone prosecution. After all 99% of the time the officer is using force in pursuance of their sworn duty and would never had used such force had the subject been compliant.

"Manz on some military **** blud" Oh dear, its one of 'dem typez dat don't talk properly, innit' - annoying idiot.

Yet again more stupid people who haven't got a clue what they're on about, just like the Northumbria video. And the whole 'this is how police treat women nowadays' argument being brought up again I noticed, I mean lets just ignore the fact that she was lashing out at the officers and violently resisting arrest shall we... Because that has nothing to do with it, does it?

Maybe what they should be saying is "why do so many women behave like animals these days yet still expect to be treated differently".
