Ironic + 46
The Officers gives him sound advice but I would hardly say it was rude. He does seem a little wound up by a fairly simple concept, a station that is unmanned for public enquiries at certain times of the day or week. Looking through his video uploads he seems like one of your usual 'thrust a camera in the face of everybody I speak to' kind of person Edited April 25, 2015 by Ironic
TheJesusofKayaking 0
Cop starts out reasonably enough by asking if he can help. Then once the camera guy confirms he's using the camera to video record the cop bluntly says "turn it off then." mmmmmmmm Why? Camera guy asks I he has to (turn camera off) and boom there's the blatant lie when the cop says yes. Why oh why did what is supposed to be a knowledgeable person (cop) lie so blatantly AND on camera? Goes on to say the camera guys hand is shaking. Footage looked pretty steady to me considering the view in the glass immediately after that statement. Cop then asks for his name and says asking is about politeness. What a crock, we know the attempted intelligence gather is what that particular question was about. Goes on to sya he's concerned about his mental state, funny that. So because the guy hasn't bowed to the expected response he's assumed to be having a mental health issue! Oh dear. Cop 1 takes serious offence at what camera guy says to top 2 about recording police interactions and makes stats getting uppety. Cop 2 is helpful enough by trying to find the contact AND get the camera guys name. A bit of a lull in the drama at 11 minutes with camera guy and cop 1 not speaking. 15 seconds on the tension mounts and I'm waiting to see who cracks first.... 11:50 cop 1 nervously scratches face. 12:21 cop 1 texts his wife or boyfriend (video unclear as it is a shot reflected in glass). Cop 1 hanging around in case this suspected basket case goes ballistic, remember he has concerns for his mental health and anything could happen. Cop 2 returns with the news, done politely enough and concisely. Cop 1 has to get the last word in by saying "You go the same answer". Almost like a 'told you so'. Guy leaves frustrated. Cop 1 did in my opinion come across as a little frustrated that his lie wasn't adhered to but hey ho this isn't the first time I've heard police tell lies, in fact I had one lie to me in a taped and video recorded interview only recently! Unusual video but top marks to the camera guy for exercising his right to record.

TheJesusofKayaking 0
Oh dear lord............ I hate the public sometimes, I really do despair. We are all the public. What do you hate about the public sometimes? There's no need to despair, you can explain all here on the open platform. By the way just had a quick flick through the camera guys other videos and he's highlighted some interesting issues such as this public safety message. Jeebs + 1,192
Without being drawn into some protracted argument, the guy was given sound and sensible advice by an officer, numerous times. When he didn't get the answer he wanted he decided to make a pest of himself like an insolent child by ringing the bell over and over again, until he drew another officer in, and wasted his time as well. He has then decided to post the video of himself being a pest, as if to show the police up in some way. In reality, all he does is show himself up. I have no time for people like him. Don't look at this a protracted argument (whatever that means) but I am interested in what you wrote 'I hate the public sometimes'. What is it that you hate about the public sometimes? I also ask what your involvement with police is. Are you a police constable, PCSO, special or something else? Look forward to your comment(s). QuiteSpecial 10
What is it that you hate about the public sometimes? I wouldn't use that phrase myself, but the member of the public seemed deliberately obtuse. He was told on numerous occasions that the station was unmanned and to phone 101 to speak to community. The first time he's told this he says he "still needs to speak to them". To who? He's just been told there's nobody there who can help. When asked his name he just blanks both officers. It's one thing to refuse but it's another just to blank them. The first officer did seem to a get a little frustrated.
Jeebs + 1,192
What is it that you hate about the public sometimes? A some what fipplant remark from myself, but one made out of frustration more than a genuine hatred of the general populous. However, the public never cease to amaze me and anger me to some extent in the way they act towards the police. A road is closed and there is a mangled car in the middle of it, they still ask "can I get down there?", an officer is having a scuffle with an offender, they produce their iPhones and film it rather than help, an armed drug dealer is shot by police whilst in possession of a firearm, they decide to riot. In this instance it is someone ringing the bell of an unmanned police station until they drag an overworked Constable away from his desk or a well deserved meal break to be given information that they already have been given by his colleague just seconds before. As for my role, I am a Police Constable, formerly a Special Constable.

TheJesusofKayaking 0
an officer is having a scuffle with an offender, they produce their iPhones and film it rather than help, I would never help a copper having a scuffle with an suspected offender either. The liability implications of getting involved are too much to get involved with these days with regard insurance claims. Best policy is to gather evidence on camera just in case either party needs to rely on it.
