Cadet Rank Structure

Recommended Posts

Burnsy2023

Since there seems to be a few more cadets here from around the country, I'm curious to hear what your ranks structure is like for cadets, how you get into those roles and what the responsibilities are?

Yes, we do.  Each unit will have team leaders for each of the four teams you will be put into and then there will be a unit head and deputy head cadet.  No units have the latter yet as we're still working out the process but we do have team leaders in the two pilot units.

Interesting Ranks, "Head Cadet" challenge accepted :P

Quite cool seeing the other rank structures. We run the VCC (Volunteer Cadet Corps) scheme, our rank structure seems completely different from the VPC structure which @OscarWhiskyEchoNovember mentioned.

Cadet

Section Leader - 2 stripes

Senior Cadet  - 3 stripes.

In our unit, we're split up into three sections, A, B and C. Each of those sections has a Section Leader and above the Section Leaders is one Senior Cadet. To become a Section Leader you must apply when a space is open. They pick the Senior Cadet by looking at the three Section Leaders and picking whoever they feel deserves and can handle the position.

I think that's a good rank structure.

Yeah I think it's a great system, it gives cadets a chance to take on a role where they can be in a more senior position and gather a lot of skills. I'm not all too familiar with other rank structures that are used, it'd be nice if some more people share could their structures.

Yes it would be great to see different structures, but I think we've got no more cadets on this forum. :/

Colonel Meerkat

I was a Police cadet for the Met Police.

Our rank structure is:

Cadet

Deputy Team leader - 1 Bar

Team Leader - 2 Bars

Deputy Head Cadet - 3 Bars

Head Cadet - 4 Bars

There were usually 4 or more teams in an unit.

Two Deputy Head cadets in an unit.

I like that structure, kinda like ours but with some of those deputy ranks, which are pretty neat. That system looks like it's aimed to a unit with a lot of cadets, am I right there? Edited by Swiper

Well each unit aims to have around 60+ cadets but of course this number is different in each borough. (London has 32 boroughs and each borough has atleast two units!)

That is why this rank structure is needed!

Having been a Head Cadet I can say having other ranks that can deal with issues other than involving myself is a must!
