Cheshire Constabulary are offering an exciting opportunity for experienced Police Officers who are looking to transfer and work within one of our Local Policing Units. Applications are welcomed from Officers from Home Office Forces only who have successfully completed their probationary period. 

Cheshire Constabulary is fully supportive of equality & diversity and strives to employ a workforce which is representative of the communities which it serves. Cheshire Constabulary is looking to increase its policing capacity by recruiting a small number of transferees and we are particularly interested in applications from Officers from underrepresented groups and BME Officers. 

Applicants who meet the required standard would be required to commence on 18th January 2016. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

Applicants must: 

• Be a substantive Police Constable and not subject to a probationary period 
• Be a current serving Police Officer in a Home Office Force 
• Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues 
• Declare any business interests at the time of applying 
• Meet the forces attendance standards  

The transferee recruitment process: 

1. Your application is papersifted to ensure you meet eligibility criteria as above 
2. You will be invited in for a competency based interview, Cheshire Constabulary assesses officers against the Police Professional Framework (PPF). 
3. Following a successful interview drugs screening, vetting, medical and fitness checks will be initiated 
4. We will contact your Line Manager if you are successful at interview for a reference (please note we will ask your permission before we do this but we cannot give a formal offer without it). 
5. You will be required to attend a medical appointment which will be arranged by Occupational Health 
6. Following vetting and medical clearances you will be posted** onto the next available intake 
7. We will write to your current Force’s HR department for a final reference confirming your service dates, vetting and PSD checks and salary details 
8. Upon starting with Cheshire Constabulary you will attend an induction course after which you will start in your role at your relevant posting. 

** If successful with your application you must be prepared to serve anywhere in the Force area. Postings are determined taking into account both individual preferences and the resourcing needs of the organisation. You can be required to travel up to or even in excess of 30 miles from the point on the Force boundary closest to your home. All travelling expenses to your appointed place of work are at your own expense. If resourcing requirements do not align with your stated preferences / or where you can travel to, we may put your application on hold until a suitable vacancy arises or withdraw your application from the recruitment process 
Applicants are advised to fully read the ‘Guidance Notes for Completion of the Application Form’ prior to completing. Applications must be completed via the e-recruitment system and all applicants must upload all documents requested. Your application will not be processed until these have been received.
