Safe from the other side of a camera knowing full-well that if the knifeman had gone for him, the police would have done everything they could to prevent it.

As I say, it's about time senior officers, the press and MPs stood up and told the public, including those persons behind the camera, how it is.

Interesting how every time somebody off-screen said "but he had a knife" the cameraman would say "shhhhh".

Nice to see some MOPs getting involved. Bravo to them.

What a shame to see them criticising the MOP for helping the officers restrain what appeared to be a strong and potentially violent individual. Bravo to him and shame on those who stood by, filming and criticising.

It's always displeasing to know that people are so against is that they'll critics those who support us. Have your opinion - don't force it on others, please.

The guy's been arrested for carrying a knife and is still actively resisting arrest, I despair at the attitude of the guys filming!!

We had to wrestle with a female recently who had tried to take her life, we did it to stop her trying again.... que the angry crowd accusing us of brutality, we can't win!!

I hope someone tries and stabs the cameraman, that'll be the only way he will learn how many people it takes to restrain a motivated offender.

Just the camera man being a fool, it's quite obvious that he was corrected more than once by someone saying he's got a knife. Nothing over the top about the offices actions it was well handled, they could probably used more force in the situation if they wanted to, it would have been justified.

It also annoys me at work when I hear a bystander make a comment to the effect of "it's taking x amount of coppers all for one man".. of course it is, because we're trying to safely restrain rather than batter the person.

This isn't some straightener between a couple of angry blokes at a pub.

A few years ago I made my way through my local station off duty to see two of my colleagues wrestling with a guy on the overbridge, this was first thing in the morning and I was very tired (hadn't had my coffee) I stepped in to help out and we had an almighty bust up with this bloke, he head butted the uniformed PCSO who was assisting us, blood everywhere from his nose.

Guy is screaming at the top of his voice "I've got a f***ing ticket" which was funny because the reason he was being arrested wasn't over a ticket issue but that he had assaulted a conductor...

cue some random busy body woman "All this blood and violence over a ticket, you should be disgusted at yourselves officers!"

She soon scuttled off when the station manager very directly said "The blood isn't his, it's the police officers...."

Gotta love armchair heroes haven't you?

I was unsurprised to see no brutality on this video - the words been diluted to the point that I now laugh whenever I hear it as it's use almost certainly lets me know I'm going to watch a completely justified used of force.

As mentioned before... Whats with this:
Cameraman: This is police brutality, they twisting him up.
A: He's got a knife, you can see it on the floor.
Cameraman: Shhhhhhhhhh

I wonder sometimes if these people are genuinely so ignorant of what police brutality actually is. I mean, we live in one of the most liberal and accountable societies in the world, and these people seem to genuinely think we're not allowed to use the slightest bit of force.

If they tried to pull that attitude in some other countries, I can't help but think they'd come back thinking we're not so bad after all.

It is now saying that the video was removed by the user: too much criticism on here for them to handle? :)
