sparky1292 2
I'm sure this question has been asked before. I'm due to start with btp in January and have been told that I need to buy my own boots. I'm looking for recommendations on what people have brought. I have looked at altberg p1. Along with the newer style blueline boots. Unfortunately no where has them in stock to try on. I manage to try on a pair of magnum viper Pro in millets which I have heard mixed reviews about on how long they last. The cost varies amongst boots. Which I don't mind. Just looking to get a pair that will last me for years

I have the P1 Aqua's, I've had them 5 years now and they are still like new! Only way I can describe it is it's like wearing a really comfy hi-top trainer. If you're able to get get to their store in Richmond, they offer 10% (possibly 15%) off to serving police officers/staff. I've previously had a pair of Dewalt boots which were really good too but when I joined I was told I couldn't wear steel-toe-capped boots.
sparky1292 2
Many thanks for your reply. I'm leaning towards the altberg p1 over other brands. Have also just looked at the warrior microlite. Unfortunately its a 10hr round-trip drive to the store. Will give them a call when they open on the 5th. How true to size are they. I'm normaly a 9 in trainers. And the same in timberland boots and work safety boots

Must have been about 25% maybe more. Boots Cost less than £80, are like slippers, waterproof, don’t rub and are still like new bar wearing on the sole and a scratch mark I can’t remember how I did. A mate of mine is due to retire soon and has had something like 4 pairs throughout his full 30 year service. I wouldn’t have anything else. For God’s sake don’t buy magnums. sparky1292 2
I will be ringing altberg store on Wednesday when they are open again. Now to decide between p1 peacekeepers. Blueline. Or warrior microlite. Don't think I will go for aqua boots as will rarely be out of train station. And not running through fields Edited January 3, 2022 by sparky1292

Not sure if there own gloss will put the shine on. That's being looked for Edited January 9, 2022 by sparky1292
