This makes me feel so sad and angry. Very impacting videos.

I really don't think these videos are helpful, they just give fuel to those who love to moan day in and day out.

personally I've had enough of the constant moaning by officers reminiscing on the good old days!

the simple fact is that policing has changed forever! whether labour come into power or not, those that don't like it can find other jobs!

i realise it's hard as most other jobs require qualifications, however you can retrain

I'm not clear about what you're implying. Are you saying that police officers don't have qualifications?

Just giving my opinion which is perfectly acceptable as this is a debate forum

well all the moaners and groaners I speak to give not having any qualifications as an excuse not to leave the service, I'm mean I'm not saying all!

remind me what qualifications do you need to join the police???

I'm a relatively new officer so I'm not one of those "officers reminiscing on the good old days" but what I see are officers being stretched to their absolute limit and forces trying to achieve the same level of service the public expects but with less resources.

I think most of us agree that there are some places we can work smarter to save money but ultimately people want boots on the ground and for officers to attend straight away when they've been burgled, not wait 12 hours for someone to come out.

Enjoy the job? I read negativity about the job every day on these forums... Officers complaining about the job, officers hating the job and officers quitting the job. Yet I'm still desperate to join... So desperate that I'd take a £4K per annum pay-cut from my current job to do so. Am I an idiot?

I don't know what the current requirements are for becoming a PC. But just because you don't need, for example, a degree, that doesn't mean that a PC doesn't have a degree. I'm sure many officers will also have pre-policing experience in other industries too which may be just as useful as a qualification.

Same here @Eddzz!! - I'm a Special but I love it and want to be out there more. Without wanting to sound cheesy, I want to make a difference.
