Perhaps it's not infact malware and just an annoying forced redirect popup that shows when you visit their site. I get it sometimes when I visit *looks around* less reputable websites.

If it were malware personally I would have thought you would be seeing on any site you go to.

I'm not very au fait with Apple and their devices but could you try installing another browser to see if that works?

Strangely enough, the same thing was plaguing me this evening! I was getting it on all sites.

I wonder where we caught it from?

I switched to using Chrome on my iPhone and I had the same problem! I found it odd that I encountered the problem was there, as well Safari.

I obviously deleted all history and closed down all open windows and it made no difference. I then upgraded iOS and it made no difference.

The only thing that seems to have worked is to clear the history from Settings, rather than the browser itself.

It seems to have stopped but I strongly suspect that something is still lurking in the background.

Not sure where it has come from i only browse reputable and respected websites using my mobile 😉

On a serious not it really is a pain in the nether regions, i have cleared setting via my mobile settings and still get the issue.

I am not too sure why we both experienced the same problem at roughly the same time? I have never had this problem on my iPhone before ...

I am not too sure why it stopped but I just kept repeated deleting the history from Settings and fiddling with other settings by turning them off and on again. I am not sure why or how that seemed to have fixed it?

Coincidence? Or could be that something more sinister is happening in that hackers have breached Apples software? Answer could be anything i suppose.

Just a heads up 😉 remember that by backing up your 'I' device then resetting and restoring the backup won't solve the issue as your just restoring the potential malware back on to your device.

Make sure the browser is shut down by bringing up the task manager, and sweeping it out of the way.  Then go to Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data   from there Tap "Clear all website data".  Restart your phone, and try using it again.

I get this sort of thing about once a week on random sites. I generally leave them alone and it stops happening. I'm sure I could do something more complicated about it, but I'm quite lazy.

Well it appears the Digital Spy forum is the source of this problem, they are working on a fix.

About us

Police Community was originally founded in 2014 by two serving Police Officers.

In 2016 it was incorporated as a limited company called RAW Digital Media Limited and then purchased 3 other forums; Police Specials, UK Police Online and Police UK to form the largest policing discussion forum network in the UK. In 2019 the decision was taken to merge all four forums into this main form of www.police.community
