Fedster + 1,307
Tenerife break for man caught carrying Taser, baton, ecstasy and cocaine. Short stay: A week in the sun in Tenerife for offender Colin Watson, then back for court sentencing Date - 22nd May 2019 By - Nick Hudson - Police Oracle 2 Comments A man facing prison after being stopped by police armed with a Taser and an extendable baton while carrying cocaine and ecstasy has had his sentence put on hold – so he can spend a week in the sun. A judge told Colin Watson “don’t let me down” after allowing him to go off on a pre-booked holiday to the Canary Islands with his partner. The 51-year-old’s judicial fate was adjourned until the end of May despite Judge Jeremy Jenkins warning the defendant he must return for a likely spell behind bars. Cardiff Crown Court was told Watson was caught by Gwent officers in Newport town centre last October. Watson admitted to possession of a prohibited weapon, having an offensive weapon, and possession of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis. The five counts all carry strict penalties with the drugs offences up to seven years in jail and possession of a weapon capable of discharging a noxious thing, or a stun gun, a maximum of 10 years. But the Pontypool defendant was spared an immediate prison term when his defence counsel Hashim Salmman asked Judge Jenkins if a pre-sentence report could be prepared on his client by the Probation Service. This was refused but the judge allowed sentence to be adjourned as an “act of mercy” so that Watson could embark on his planned summer break to Tenerife. Sentencing will now be on May 31. His sentencing was adjourned to give him enough time to have a holiday. Why is the judge kowtowing to this criminal?
Zulu 22 + 4,553
Unbelievable no wonder there is no respect in certain circles for justice.

David + 4,981
Hmm. And they wonder why there is so little faith in the judicial system? 20 hours ago, ParochialYokal said: I am not sure I see the problem here?
