Thames Valley: Another tragic road victim Date - 16th January 2019 By - Nick Hudson - Police Oracle An officer on his way home from work has died in a motorbike accident just hours after his force paid its final respects at the funeral of a colleague killed coming off his Christmas shift. Today the Thames Valley force was coming to terms with losing a second officer to a road fatality in tragic circumstances. PC Kevin Flint, a neighbourhood officer based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, died when his personal motorcycle collided with a stationary vehicle in a lay-by on Tuesday. The collision – on the A41 between Tring and Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire – is being investigated by Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit. Chief Superintendent Steve Williams said: “It is with great sadness that I confirm the tragic death of serving Thames Valley Police officer, PC Kevin Flint. “PC Flint’s next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them, as well as his friends and colleagues at this extremely difficult time. “All those affected are being supported by Thames Valley Police “We would kindly request that the privacy of PC Flint’s family is respected.” On Monday retiring chief constable Francis Habgood led the tributes at the funeral service of 24-year-old Milton Keynes PC Daniel Clayton-Drabble who died on Boxing Day morning – coming back from a Christmas shift – when the car he was driving was involved in a single vehicle collision on an unclassified road between the A5 and Whittlebury near Towcester in Northamptonshire.
