As pointed out at Twitter, between 00:51 and 01:02, the gentleman in blue appears to be reaching for something in his pocket. I wonder what?

People on social media saying its a knife, if true he needs dealing with. Luckily he gets pulled away by his mate.

What on earth is going on there?

People trying to break into Wireless festival through the outside fence. Security guards standing around, one PC actually doing something about it.

In fairness quite a few security guards did get stuck in but they have no kit, no armour. Just a radio and a polo shirt so the PC with his baton was the only one that could do anything to clear some space.

They haven't learned from yesterday?

The worst bit is I don't think the tickets were actually sold out!

I thought I glimpsed something long and straight... His mate seems pretty desperate to get  him away...

Spray them all.

Problem is after 7 seconds you've had it.

This is why you do not bring Wireless festival to Finsbury Park. I predicted problems like this as soon as they announced they had moved there.

Bullshire Police on FB have some blown up stills and it was reasonably certainly a knife and if it wasn't for his mate stopping them there would be possibly a seriously injured dead guard and police officer - the PC (understandably) didn't notice it and the knifeman got behind him at one point.

It's a bad sign when you have a lone officer having to deal with this even in the normally highly resourced (compared to everywhere else) MP.

I've been to several events now where our briefing consisted of something along the lines of "we're here as a fallback only, they want to prove they can police their own events", only for it to swiftly get out of control because the stewards/security are completely ineffective once things become violent.

I do wonder if something like that has happened here; it's the only reason I can think of that we'd have a solitary PC among a horde of security.
