Good Morning

I have just had my ill Health Retirement approved by my DCC (GMP).

My question to anyone who can help please is I have been off work for 14 months and I would like to know what happens with regards to my annual leave when I finally retire in a months time, what is the process?. I have 160 + 19 hrs (carryover).

To save you the trouble.I was off with ptsd for 14 months before medical retirement (with this and other issues) a few months before my "actual" date  of retirement and my force was amazing by the way. I had loads of leave and a major amount of accrued time of in in leave aka toil as I was in a job that didnt officially have an overtime budget  for the last 7 years.( multi agency). They paid me every penny as per the police regulations on my final pay slip.So hope this helps.

In my case the police service was brilliant to me when I became too ill to work in 2015.

I had been off sick for twelve months when I was pensioned off early. I was only paid for 40 hours leave from the previous year and lost nearly a grand. I appealed but they refused stating that that was the maximum amount of annual leave which would be able to be carried over!
