We got an E-mail in work either end of last week or start of this week (i've slept since then !!) saying the results wouldn't be out until I think 27th April and as normal you would receive personal notification via e-mail with detailed feedback about 2-3 weeks later. I've not heard anything either, there is a 'rumour' going around my force though that Herts have had their results, but it's come from a transferee from that force, and is probably someone winding him up.

A couple of years ago the results came out after just over 3 weeks, and with technology and computers getting better, I can't see why it's taking so long to give the results out, as it's not as if someone has to go though them with a red pen is it?

Sadly i can confirm that it is just a rumour about Herts. Herts dont have any results. I spoke to someone in Herts HR who stated that allegedly NPIA are running 2 and half weeks behind which would make that w/c 27th April. Where she got that from and how she knew it i dont know.

I agree that it does seem an extremely long time to publish results from something that is clearlly marked by computer and must take seconds.

Ive read the marking process on the NPIA website which like most things with policing seems full of red tape, out of curiosity does anyone know why the check all the question books to see whats written in them and why are 'occupational psychologists' used on the marking process?

Just seems odd to me to check peoples notes in question books and for psychologists to be involved.

They can check mine all they want I never write anything in them, but yet it does seen sad that you can't walk out the exam, hand your sheet in, get it scanned and get a result there and then, save a lot of speculation of Police forums for the next 5 weeks !!!

Hmm, I've checked my results e-mail last year (the intial indicator, rather than the full breakdown of the result. It was sent on 23/04/09.

The latest they can be is the 29th April if I remember correctly?

Id doubt they do have anything, probably just a standard email they fire off. We had an email today from the force examinations officer who stated that NPIA had told her that results would start being issued week commencing 27th. They are issued in alphabetical order according to force (lucky if your A and S, unlucky if your Wiltshire!).

Not sure about all forces but on the exam application that we submitted end of 2008 to sit the exam we had to include works email address. NPIA email us direct with the result and not the examination officer. Then a short time after you get the breakdown of the results.

Going back to the original question, if it were me id give ADV a call or email and ask

Contacted them last night and received a response this morning, that stated they had been contacted by a member of the Atomic Energy Police who had passed.

Would appear that they are the only force.  Perhaps there is more to this alphabetical lark after all!

Hmm, I really don't know why they keep it so mysterious. Why not just name the 29th as results day, then we all know where we stand! It's how most school/college/university exam boards operate!!!

Oh well, I'll been in for a wait then...... W .....

I agree, just a set date and thats when its published would be much easier. It would stop all the rumours and speculation. When they are finally published ive decieded im going to contact them and ask them why it takes so long and why is it such a complicated marking procedure.

A few officers on my OCU have left feedback re the exam, saying it wasn't a test of one's knowledge but more a test of how well one can read a question. Not real world stuff.

Must say I agree with the comments above re waiting time and beleive we are all of the same opinion. How can an electronic marking sheet take almost 7 weeks for the NPIA to process then send out to forces!!! Never thought 5 days would go by so slowly but they are good luck to all and hope the results go well for everyone when they finally come out.
