leeh 2
Is anyone else feeling the pressure a little bit now? I'm still not through half the material I should be through, down to numerous factors. I'm trying not to panic, so is there anyone else out there desperately still flipping through blackstones to get a decent amount of knowledge crammed in? It'd make me feel better if there was So basically, what's the update from anyone else that is currently Studying for Ospre Pt1 and also, is there any advice/experience that substantive skippers can offer? Did you feel unconfident or fail to get through some of the material before the exam? Many thanks in advance !
FishFace 0
I have 3/4 of evidence and procedure to go. Got a good 10 days off before the exam. I am becoming bored now. My logic was to read them most-interested-in first as I will remember them easier (traffic > crime > GPD > E&P). Sadly I didn't take into consideration how boring the big two books are. I have been using the online Q and As and have not once got below the pass mark. I'm actually worried about not scoring a high mark. Although I don't think that's too bad-a position to be in. diddly 80
I passed last year. I took a month off before the exam. At this stage I had not even started traffic, a subject I was not worried about having been a 10-year Trafpol previously. I didn't do as well as I could have done in it. However I did a crammer course of 3 days over a Friday and weekend: well woth the money! Easy to remember clues e.g at any stage during a burglary scenario, as a suspect goes through a door consider "What's in his hand(W>I>F>E)" and "What's in his head?" I got 100% on the burglary questions!! Good Luck, don't panic and most importantly: RTFQ!!!

leeh 2
wow, that was harder than I thought! I have absolutely no idea of how I performed, but it certainly can't be compared to any mock i've taken. How about the rest of you, good or bad omens on this one? Copperballs 0
I worked my socks off for this exam as I have failed on two previous attempts (the last by just 2.7%!). I worked a minimum of between 2 hours a day to a maximum of 5 hours - this was for a period of 5 months!!! I purchased the Blackstones Manuals, Blackstones Question and Answer books and the 2008 Blackstones Sgts/Insp Mock Exam. I can honestly say that the mock exam (of which I scored 60.1% 2 weeks prior to the exam) was so much easier than the exam itself. I know that I have failed this exam and, although that in itself is frustrating, it is the manner the answers are given on the exam that gets my blood boiling! I have a degree in Business Management and Information Technology and, prior to becoming a Police Officer, I had never failed an exam! LUCK is a big factor in the exam, especially as one as ambiguous and obscure as this most recent one was!
Penbwlch 810
Many (very many) years ago they used to make adjustments to exam results if the exam had proved misleading (if many papers all showed the same wrong, but plausible, answer). I know that promotion exams have changed out of all proportion to when I took them but is there any chance, these days, of such adjustments being made? Tradinstan 0
I remember my mock chemistry o-level in 1966 - they had to double everyone's marks, and I came top with 30%! Needless to say, none of us passed.
