tee5 0
When I view this site and click on any thread, I get "Internet Explorer has performed an illegal operation and will close down" . Only happens on this site. My PC then slows right down afterwards until I reboot. Doesn't happen every time, but only happens here
Brian1545925477 1
Moved to relevant forum section. I don't use IE and am not a computer genius. The only thing I can think of is; are you logging on at work? It may be that this forum, or parts of it, is/are blocked.

Graham1545925480 9
That sounds like a problem with your internet service provider's system. I'd suggest contacting their helpdesk.
Penbwlch 810
tee5, have you run an anti-spyware program (such as Ad-Aware) lately? This sort of problem can happen when your computer has a number of spyware programs running in the background without your knowledge (a common problem with Internet Explorer). If you haven't cleaned out your spyware, Ad-Aware SE Personal is free (although they do try to sell you higher level programs).

Stan Still 1
Log on at work? We haven't got Internet access! I view it all from home I can view this site at work (privilege of rank), but I never log in. That way my ID won't be registered anywhere. If you've got a problem with IE, why not bin it and get Firefox? It works for me!
pclincoln 0
Are your Microsoft updates being downloaded? If you dont want to go firefox then download the beta version of IE7 from Microsoft. Your PC may be running at a low spec?
Fingersmuldoon 7
Tee5, First of all , download and run Adaware SE, or the Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta. This will get rid of all the unwanted garbage that accumulates on your PC. Next, clear all your cookies and Temporary Internet Files. Launch IE and click on the tools menu. Click on Delete Cookies and then on Delete Files. When the pop-up box appears, ensure that "Delete All Offline Content" is checked. Next, have a look at your IE addons. Click on Tools then Internet Options. On the Programs tab, click on the Manage My Addons button at the bottom of the screen. There will be two list options here, addons that IE has used, and addons that IE has loaded. Both will list off all the additional bits and bobs that have been loaded alongside IE. You will see loads of stuff you may recognise, and loads that wont mean a thing to you. Anything by Microsoft, SUN, Adobe, Macromedia etc will usually be ok. Start with the 'odd' looking stuff and disable them one at a time. It may be that one of these is causing the issue.
