Can anyone recommend any crammer books for the sgts exam? or some of the audio CD's.

i have finally decided that now, during the massive upheaval, cuts and promotion ban, that it would be a great time to go for the exam.

Barons by CheckMate are fantastic to use for it, I wish I had bought them sooner than I did.

I can recommend the Checkmate Publishing audio CDs.  I used them for my PC > Sgt and have just got some from my Sgt > Insp.  They're £70 for the set (about 12.5hrs of audio)... I've stuck them on a memory stick to listen to in the car, theory being that even when i'm concentrating on driving little bits will stick in my memory!

I also totally recommend the Checkmate 3 Day crammer Courses.. Agani, did it for my PC>Sgt and already booked for my Sgt >Insp.

I did buy the Jane's Police Review crammer for my Sgts, but that doesn't exist anymore.  I'm not intending to use a crammer book for the insp, just the CDs, course and Blackstones online with Q&A.

  • 3 weeks later...

I too used the Tom Barron audio CDs, ripped them onto MP3 format and listened to them in the car to/from work for a month running up to my exam.  It's good because the way he says certain things is rather amusing, which in turn makes you remember it ;)
