This idiot needed dragging out of the car and dealing with robustly...

As soon as he started shouting and swearing I'd have locked him up, clearly some anger management issues here.

I had a traffic stop like that recently: he found himself in cuffs and nicked for failing to give he his DL or name within a few seconds as soon as it started going down that route...

No surprise that that's in Tower Hamlets, there's a real problem with young men in expensive cars causing havoc on that borough. Sadly, I have first hand experience of that when one killed a pedestrian and failed to stop. Feel sorry for her, but she seems new-ish and will hopefully take away some learning from it.

Tower Hamlets was never like that in my youth!

I was worried about her terrible officer safety - she was right in his car and holding onto the keys. Hopefully it was an excellent learning opportunity for her and she didn't have anything other then her pride injured.

To be honest compared to some of the videos we have on here she didn't do so bad...

I didn't like her hands on the keys... If he had driven off she's going with him... And we all know the consequences of that.

He would've been coming in for something... Even if it was just using a vehicle to cause unceccessary noise. But there are plenty of offences there...

If these people continue to act unchallenged then their behaviour will become worse.

It is your duty to challenge this behaviour robustly - if the cops won't stand up to it then who will?

was she singly crewed?

File a complaint. She touched your vehicle BEFORE she formally told you that you were being stopped under the road traffic act.

This is the problem we face, little things like this aren't seen to be a useful use of time so cops will often take this level of abuse and ultimately let things slide rather than deal with it properly as they should.

The problem Mersey is exactly as you've said, if the police won't deal with these idiots who have ZERO respect for anyone let alone the police who will stand up to them?

Let them rant along, eventually people calm down.

The driver had opened his window fully and then finds the Police attempting to snatch the keys. This may have added to the grievance one had.

After allegedly initially trying to drive off and allegedly drive towards the officer in the process - which might have added to the police officer's grievance somewhat.

I share you sentiments, of course.  But what would you have locked him for?  Whilst he's shouting and clearly has anger management issues, he doesn't swear other than that he "doesn't give a s***t" who she is.  You'd be struggling with a Section 5 arrest in my opinion.

I completely agree that we have created these anti-social monsters not just by dumbing down Section 5 of the Public Order Act but also with the emphasis on putting individual rights over personal responsibility, where there are no real consequences for such poor behaviour

I would add, on top of this though, some of these inner-city areas - particularly in London, where there are historic tensions between the Police and certain sections of the community - are extremely sensitive to Police.  Whilst she didn't handle it as well as she might have, dragging him out of the car as you put it would potentially cause a whole manner of peripheral issues for the Officer(s) to contend with.
