Recipients of New Year Honours for 2018 include a deputy commissioner, legal director and organiser of National Police Memorial Day.

Among the winners are the Met’s Dep Comm Craig Mackey and its assistant director of legal services Naz Saleh.

Ms Saleh played a key role in the inquest into the death of Princess Diana, and regularly provides training to officers about the lawful use of their powers.

Joe Holness has been recognised for services to policing and the National Police Memorial Day.

Former Police Bravery Award and Pride of Britain winner PC Sara Widdrington, who tackled a gunman while off duty, is among the winners of the Queen’s Police Medal.
