Upcoming interview

Recommended Posts

Good morning all, With my special constable interview coming up very soon I’m wondering if I can take some notes into the interview with me?

Obviously I’m doing plenty of revision and work before hand but I’ve not seen anything to say I can’t take some notes in with me on what I’ve got to say.

Thanks

I'd be very surprised if you could! For both my Specials and Regular interviews notes were a no-no. This was for MerPol but generally the idea is you should be able to remember the basics around the Force/role and any examples of the competencies should roll off your tongue if they're your evidence.

I have to agree with PCSD, I very much doubt it. I know when I had both my specials and regular interviews they weren't allowed.

Is there any specific reason that you have to have them like for instance you have a disability that would require you to have notes?

You could email HR to confirm however I'm fairly certain that you won't be allowed to.

The process is designed not only to test that you can remember information and present/project clearly but also deal with situations under stress.

If your having issues, try practice interview questions and answers with your family/friends, write them out so it imprints on your mind or finally do what I do which is recording the questions and answers.

Good luck.

I took notes into my final force interview for PC and passed. Wasn’t an issue. People just have different ways of working and it’s not part of the assessment criteria. And if you were not allowed to take it in you would be told before your interview.

Nope, no notes as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for all the responses, I’ll take it as you can’t take any notes into the interview. Plenty revising for me
