Recommended Posts

As above quite random how do all you guys who work within the police wear your trousers on your boots. How high on them etc?!

Reason I ask is had my uniform fitting and the shortest trousers was still really long on me and wondered if people have them this low on there boot

Thanks in advance

Mine sit just above the third lace loop from the bottom. Not too short, not too long.

Mine is fine with boots, especially since I got Short sizing.

Worse thing you're gonna have to wear your trousers around your belly button :D

@billyboy,when the trouser is comfortable around the waist  is the break of your trouser crease just slight where it meets the boot/shoe  lace? If it is then they sound about right and for me would not be worth taking to the local tailor/seamstress to get taken up , which i have done on a few occasions back in the day rather than wait months for the clothing store to do it. On the other hand if the material is bunched up where it rests on the boot (or is half way up the boot for that matter) then they wouldn't do at all for me. Rich.

It's just above my very bottom lace ring on my boot and bunched up so they definitely need doing. My local suit shop reckon they can turn it around within a day and only charge a tenner so not to bad

Sorry to practice thread necromancy, but is it generally acceptable to have trousers altered?

I tend to struggle getting the sizing right with trousers and imagine I'll need the combats altering a bit in spite of the fitting.

Any GMP bods out there who can offer an insight?

Trousers rarely fit, I can't see anyone caring if you have them altered. They will probably be slightly envious.

Though the rate I go through trousers it's cost inefficient to do anything to them
