mike88 + 257
The disrespect against police by some people never ceases to amaze me. I think it could've been handled better by the officers though I think the second officer should've backed his colleague up rather than ushering him away, it makes them seem weak and powerless and makes it look like the first officer is in the wrong. I think they both should've been more assertive but then I wasn't there and they're outnumbered.

MerseyLLB 8,426
I hope this resulted in a red button and all offenders dealt with robustly.

Global Moderators MindTheGap 1,275 Posted February 22, 2017 Global Moderators Share Posted February 22, 2017 The second officer appears to be MPS Support Staff (not a PC/PCSO) so that's probably why he got in the way. Possibly the lorry driver!

Possibly the lorry driver! I think you're right. You can just make out the dove grey shirt, lack of belt kit and no epaulettes. I know what I'd do closing down a cannabis farm and it would involve far more people as the unexpected can and does happen. Regularly find an officer is posted on their own at cannabis farms of varying size to sort out the contractors attending, proprty store officers and the council amd so on. I have only even been double crewed when there has been a offender outstanding or the discovery was after a third party calling in an aggrevated burglary.

I've always put two on the truck for the very reason demonstrated in the video. One should have stayed with the truck to protect the contents. The way I view it, someone has invested time and money and may seek to take any opportunity to recover some of the loss. Given that this is often organised crime my risk assessment is high. I did a cannabis farm recently and had seven people deployed.

Sounds like officers are looked after, a little better than BOCU

Completely missed that he's not an officer, it's not good to hear that you get posted on your own but not surprising at all.
Inbtsiyp + 347
Whatching the police staffs actions I don't think he was pushing the officer away.Initially he appears to be taking control of the bag of cannabis so the officer can concentrate on the threat and then when the officer backs into the wall the staff member appears to be guiding him away so he can continue to withdraw safely while facing the risk.Sent from my iPhone using Police Community
XA84 + 443
Quite gobsmacked that it is a single officer with civvy that has been sent to that especially given the quantity and amount of cannabis.
