Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to point out the differences in training and examinations for the various types of driving permits for officers. At present my force currently has basic, response and advanced. Any advice is appreciated. XA84
Afternoon all, I'm hoping to get some clarification on the D1 category. I understand that this is this required for the larger PSU vehicles like the typical IVECO ones: I understand that this can be taken as a course through your own force but how does it work. Does the force teach you and then you go to the DVLA for an test or is there an approved examiner working with the police. I only ask as with every other vehicle it's just a case of whether you can drive a car unless your a motorcyclist Thanks in advance. XA84
Wandsworth Parks and Events Police have a new van: http://www.ukemergency.co.uk/lf16-npo-wandsworth-parks-and-events-police-ford-transit-custom/ I don't think that I can post the pics, as they are copyrighted. Looks quiet smart and almost indistinguisable to a member of the public to any other police vehicle that they might see driving around London. It could easily be mistaken for a BTP vehicle if you looked in your rear mirror. Interesting to see that they are now being brave enough just to write 'police' on the vehicle. Other vehicles have historically preceded the word 'police' with 'parks'.
