    NPCC Pay Report

https://news.npcc.police.uk/releases/police-chiefs-ask-independent-police-pay-body-to-consider-a-three-year-deal-for-officers Document Interesting read short version is 2 recommenations from the NPCC, first a 2-2.5% pay increase for the next year or a 6% increase over 3 years, 4% of which is with immediate effect.
  2. Radical plans to modernise the police by linking pay to performance and recruiting outside experts on short-term contracts have been proposed by the police chief in charge of standards. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/11/18/performance-related-pay-short-term-contracts-cyber-experts-should/ So anyone expecting good news from this I wonder? Do you agree pay needs reforming and if so how?
  3. Branch chairman says government has treated police officers with 'utter contempt'. West Yorkshire Police Federation chairman Nick Smart The Police Federation could mount a legal challenge to the government over the pay review process after the independent body’s recommendations were ignored for a second year in a row. Last week the Home Office announced a two per cent pay rise for all officers, after the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) recommended three per cent. A meeting on how the staff association should respond will be held in the near future, Police
  4. The government has today (6 July 2016) set out the pay awards for school teachers and police officers in line with the policy of an average 1% pay rise in 2016 to 17. The government asked the following Pay Review Bodies to examine how an increase to base pay could be applied in line with the government’s policy of an average of 1% across the workforces: School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB) Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) Senior Salaries’ Review Body (SSRB) for chief police officers The government has accepted in full the recommendations for school teachers and po

    Pay Date

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but what date in the month do the MDP pay you? I'm assuming it's monthly rather than weekly. Thanks for any help folks.
  6. Hi all I'm to be a PCSO new starter with GMP this year, I was wonder if anyone can clarify how the shift allowance and weekend enhancements are added onto the salary? Grade D £18,909 per anum Weekend enhancement 8.28% Shift allowance 14% So is that 22.28% of £18,909 (£4212.92) added onto the £18,909 to make £23,122 per anum? Thanks

  9. A change in finance policy has occurred, that's fine it happens, there is now a flat rate for subsistence payout if you work 5-10 hours (leaving your front door to walking back in it). It would be inappropriate to discuss exact numbers here but imagine my surprise when this months expense sheet shows that I shall get the same for a 14 hour shift as a 5 hour shift, when we used to get some money for working over 5 hours and more for working over 10. Needless to say, feeling a little hard done by. Rant over.

    Uniform Tax Rebates

Hi all, I read an article in the sharp end, relating to an allowance that is available to "all officers" which in essense is an £110 allowance to cover costs of cleaning uniform. For the req's it is paid directly but does not specify for specials. So on the basis of this i raised it within my LPA who advised that I should be entitiled to claim it but would have do do so through my local HMRC. This i have done so but they have intially knocked me back on the premise of that it is for "full time serving officers" only. I am of course challanging this with them and the battle is still in progr
  11. Evening, Just a quick one, I’ve had experiences of both English and Scottish forces as well as urban and rural / semi rural policing. Been at it 5 years now since I was green eyed 18 year old. Currently a regular in Scotland, however, I’m looking to transfer to the Met in the next 12 months or so. I have it on good authority they’ll be opening up periodically around every 6 months or so for transfers in the near future. I’ve always fancied the Met mainly for the apparent uniqueness of policing London. In addition I’m also starting to miss working in a purely urban / inner city environment.

    Claiming Expenses for court

Hiya, I've been given a warning that I need to attend court (will be my first time ) so obviously I need to get time off work. Now as far as I understand it, work has to give me the time off but don't have to pay me. I claim back my loss of earning from the police. I'm just wondering what the process is regarding this in Wiltshire. Is there any particluar form I need to fill in? Thanks Handscombmp
  13. Join the march – Thursday 10th of May 2012 – are you going? I haven’t seen much mention of the upcoming Police Federation march at London on Thursday the 10th of May on the website and as the most visited Police form in the UK, who is going?? I have posted this in ‘general discussion’ to reach a wider audience as the march is open to all serving and retired Police officers, Specials, staff, friends & family and members of the public. In my opinion the basis for the march concerns everyone and is not restricted to ‘regular’s only’ or ‘regular’s zone’. If you are seeking to join the ser
