So I've just watched the latest episode of Police Interceptors (yes, I know before you say it, it's a guilty pleasure) and came across a scene where a 12 year old lad and his 12 year old girlfriend decide to take out mums car without her knowing.. after leading the officers on a merry chase around Bradford they end up crashing into a tree. When it comes to showing their outcome of the crimes they each get aggrivated twoc and no insurance for which they received a social work order and then receive *and this is where I'm stumped* a 12 month driving ban. Why in gods name would you ban a 12 year old from driving - he's still not going to be legally old enough to drive after the year has passed. Also surely the ban would be removed from his record by the time he reaches 17 anyway?1? I understand there needs to be some record of what he has done but still I am just absolutely dumbfounded over that. I'm fairly certain in terms of sentencing they could have thought of something more apt. *Rant over*
For those who weren't aware (I wasn't til I saw it on Demand 5) Police Interceptors is back on Channel 5! Follows the same unit from Lincolnshire Police as seen in previous series. First episode was a good watch, jealous of them driving them new Octavia VRS'. Check it out on Demand 5 here; http://www.channel5.com/shows/police-interceptors Otherwise I'd imagine its on the telly at 8pm every Monday on Channel 5.
