The Launch Of Communities Here On Police Community We are really excited to announce the launch of our brand new Force Community Areas. These brand new and innovative additions to the forum are here to replace the standard force specific areas that we currently have. You will notice that on the front of the forum area you will now see links to our Force Specific Communities which are available for use as of now. Communities provide each community lead the opportunity to fully customise their own area so that it is meaningful for that force area. Each community can grow in size and evolve over time adding new and exciting features and areas as is felt appropriate. You will see "Communities" available from the main menu or you can click on any of them from the main forum index page to jump straight into that specific community area. What Do I Need To Know? You are already registered on the main forum so there is no registration process within a community, your police community account will give you access. All communities allow you to visit, read and enjoy what is within however to contribute and take part you need to 'Join' a community The community lead for that area will be displayed on the main community landing page - they are your first point of contact for issues within that area. Each community lead can appoint moderators to help them in that area Community leads can expand all areas of the community they are responsible for and customise most aspects of it. How do I join a community? This is the simplest of all - you just click the Join option on the community landing page Joining a community is automatic with no approval process required for the Force Specific Areas. We hope you like what we have done with Police Communities here on Police Community and we hope you support and contribute to these areas much more now there is a significant amount of flexibility in terms of what can be done. The Police Community Team would like to thank all of our Mini Mods that have supported the Force Specific areas to date and that have now agreed to migrate to become Community Leads. We are looking for more community leads so if you think you have what it takes to manage your very own area of our forum then please get in touch by raising a support ticket. We would love to hear from you. The communities that are still available are those ones where I (Chief Bakes) is showing as the Community Lead. Please Note: We will aim to transfer all existing content from the force specific areas across to the new communities throughout this week, once the content is transferred the community leads will then allocate the threads to the most appropriate forum area within their community. In the meantime we will start to switch off the facility for New Topics which will no longer be permitted in the old force specific areas however replies will continue to be allowed for existing threads meaning that all new content needs to be created in the new communities. Once everything has transferred then the Force Specific area will be disabled. Best Wishes Chief Bakes
