  1. Well well well... I made it through to the finals without any of Gazza's tears or Psycho's missed penalties and it looks like all those years of hurt might be coming to an end at last. I haven't heard the result yet - at least not formally - but one of the officers who interviewed me gave me some positive feedback once the interview had ended. I'm not going to count my chickens until I've had that email with a big thumbs up, but hopefully we're getting there! The interview itself was really friendly and supportive - to anyone who is preparing for theirs, I would look at the priorities, values and PCC's plan for Kent. It's also worth thinking about community engagement etc as you did for the Assessment Centre and what you can do to contribute, as well as the local and national issues confronting the police. I really felt the interview seemed harder to fail than to pass! Hopefully I won't have egg on my face this time next week! Have a good weekend all!!
  2. I think it would be useful if we can get a list together of those forces that still include a Final Interview stage (after Ryton Assessment Centre) in their recruitment process... I'll start us off! North Wales Police recruitment process: Application - Assessment Centre at Ryton (pass point 60%) - Final Interview - Vetting / References - Fitness Test - Medical Test - Appointment
  3. Passed Final Interview -> Next stages

After getting through the assessment centre, i have passed my final in-force interview. I am worried regarding Medical / Fitness / Vetting stages. Should i be worried regarding this bit of the process ?
  4. I had my inforce interview yesterday. I don't normally feel confident after an interview but I came away think I had done pretty well. I was told it would be next week before I hear anything as the interviews were ongoing all week. I was even asked on my way out if I would have a preference of posting area. But at 9am today I got an email saying I failed. Has anyone else heard back already or just me?
  5. "Group Activity" Final Interview

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anybody has come across a group discussion and physical problem solving assessment for their final interview, instead of the usual competency-based individual interview? I have mine coming up on 17th May and I was wondering how best to conduct myself! Thanks a lot! DJ
  6. Recruitment Help...

Hello all, I have failed my final interview at my second attempt, despite studying like a demon! My question is this: I passed my A/C on 10 February 2015 so have until that date next year until that score is irrelevant. Does that mean that should West Mercia recruit again in six months, do I have to complete an application form and if successful go straight to interview? Do I need to fill out the competency parts of application as I would have my A/C result? Finally, how is the six months calculated? Is it six months multiplied by four weeks (6x4 = 24 weeks which would be 29 January) or is it date to date i.e. six months from now would be 14 February 2016? I used the STAR acronym last time and failed, with my structure and interview technique needing work - anyone have any tips or courses to improve this? I revised the competencies rigorously but the questions were phased in a way that made my examples not fit! Any help would be appreciated!
  7. Final Interview

Hi there! I'm going through recruitment for Police Scotland and I have my final interview tomorrow! I have studied all of the expected core competencies as well as job knowledge. Is there any advice for what to expect in the job knowledge section that I may not have thought about? Other than general duties, preventative actions, legislation changes, divisional information and if course paperwork! Kind regards Andy Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
