    The bleep test

Hi there, I'V just discovered this forum and it's my first post. I'm going to be applying to the Police but I want to start raising my fitness levels now. I'm a healthy weight but I'm pretty skinny. A practice bleep test had me drop at 4.5 and the Police requires 5.4 so what can I do to push my self to this level?

    Police Bleep Test

Hey guys, I'm hoping to get some advice on how to best train for the bleep test, I'm to get to 5.4. I've always struggled with running and mainly stamina whilst running (before any of you start getting saucy :-P. I believe I will be undergoing my fitness test in approx 4-6 weeks. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Hello everyone my name is Craig and I have a SEARCH assessment with the MOD Police on the 6th - 7th September. I'm been reading every post regarding the MOD police on this forum. A lot of members have provided some great information about this subject and I would like to thank everyone for sharing. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice in regards to the SEARCH assessment. I covered most of the areas myself but I may have missed somethings. Any advice would be welcomed and much appreciated. If I can increase my chances of success in the slightest it will be worth it.

    Provisional acceptance letter

Hey, I am so pleased that today I received a provisional acceptance letter from Wiltshire police as a PC! Has anyone else applied to work within Wiltshire? How long do all the checks take? They say they check: Please note that this offer of employment is subject to satisfactory medical checks (including drugs/alcohol tests), character checks, security checks, biometric vetting, media checks, finance checks, Professional Standards Department checks and references. Thanks Scott
  7. I have just received a text from a friend who is also applying to the MSC telling me that he received an email informing him that specials recruitment has been temporarily suspended as they are focusing on regular recruitment. Has anyone else received a similar email and can anyone shed any light on this as I'm unable to access my email right now! Edit I've just managed to access my emails and found this in my inbox Really hope this doesn't last too long!
  8. Has anyone else applied to West Yorkshire Police Specials on their most recent intake (Dec 2012), if so has anyone heard anything back?! How long is it likely to take? How do you actually 'pass' the paper sift? Thanks and good luck!
  9. I've got my JRFT tomorrow! obviously very nervous about the bleep test. Been practising with a met police app for the last 2 weeks, managed to get to 5.4 and 5.5 a few times, however I did my last test earlier today and couldn't get past 4.5! Now I'm extremely disheartened and in a complete panic that I suddenly can't do it! I don't know what's wrong with me?! I know I can get to 5.4 because I've done it before. I feel like I've hit 'the brick wall' that everyone talks about. I need tips/encouragement on: - jogging technique (I slap my feet on the floor). - lactic acid build up. - how to

    Bleep Test - 15m - Firearms

I'm after some advice on the bleep test. I run the level 5.4 every time we go for public order training, method of entry etc etc, but later on this month I'll be running to 9.4. I'm trying to find some sort of results table, to show the amount of shuttles, time, distance etc throughout the different levels, but so far I have only been able to find ones relating to the 20m test. Any help massively appreciated. Cheers

    15M Bleep Test

Hi, I have just started to practice the 15m bleep test and can only just reach level 4, but then I collapse :D I'm a 39 year old woman and I thought I was reasonably fit, but saying that I don't do any exercise so to be honest very naive! I have 3 weeks to go till my assessment and wondered how I can get my level up to the 5.4 without collapsing at the end, should I do the bleep test every day or start jogging or rowing machine, whats best and does not involve me paying to go to a gym?
