MOLLE pouches
by Ironic +- 11 replies

I've recently been authorised with taser, and at some point will be receiving a MOLLE vest to mount the (currently) belt-mounted holster as it stands, but we are not issued with general purpose storage pouches aside from baton/captor/cuffs from stores and the holster itself. Any suggestions for Molle storage pouch that won't fall apart? Amazon have a plethora but I am little sceptical of the build quality on some!

Does anyone carry a kit bag? 1 2 3 4

I know this will probably vary depending on what kind of team you're on/role etc. When I was on response I used to carry a kit bag that could fit my hat/coat etc., along with various bits of paperwork. Being cheap, I just used a £15 holdhall from JJB, which kind of worked. Unfortunately, as it was just a holdall, paperwork and things did get tatty and now the whole bag has pretty much fallen apart after 2 years of being thrown around, so I'm looking for a replacement. What do people use as a kit bag? I know people use things of niton999 and patrol store, but from looking at some colleague's they seem to be quite huge, and looking at those websites, a bit pricey…

Why do some police agencies not have PAVA/CS? 1 2 3

Why do some police agencies not have or use PAVA/CS, but some do? For instance, all HO forces do, including Specials, but military police don't. Same with some non-HO, like Port of Dover Police do have it, but other forces don't, neither do Border Force. Is it a deliberate lack of need or funding, or is there prohibition for some police agencies?

Not wearing stab-vests

Over the years, I've noticed that often (more in Spring or Summer time) officers will not wear stab vests, just uniform and a kit vest/belt. In a few different forces. A question - when is it obligatory to wear one, or is it down to personal preference, or perhaps it changes with each force? Cheers.

Decent Torches

What torches do people carry? Do you have one attached to a clamped klick fast on your vest? Do you have a pouch on your belt? I don’t know why or how I’ve managed to stick with my original issued torch for the past 3 years but I must be frank, it’s dog****. I was Trying to look through some dense foliage that a little scrote had thrown something into and I had no chance. My natural night vision was better! I’m looking to invest in one that it’s multipurpose and a mixture of spot and floodlight where possible and if I must spend up to £100 I will! I’ve seen some of Nitecores Torches and I’m stuck between the MH23 and the MH27UV. Anyone have an experience …

My fiancée is soon to join

Good morning all, I'm not in the police force but my fiancée is starting her training soon, i hope i am ok to make a quick post. She is quite worried about the boots she is expected to wear during her training as there wasn't much direction on what is required. I spent nearly 8 years in the Royal Engineers so I know the importance of good, comfy boots! I was thinking of a pair of Alt Berg sneakers/defenders but she seems to think that they won't be allowed in the police force? I know Alt Berg are very practical and good quality. Are there any style/make of boots that the new recruits usually arrive to training in? She is worried Alt Bergs dont look the…
