Anyone else do the Inspectors exam this year? Usually hear whispers of dates for results a little before they come out but heard nothing this year. Anyone heard anything? Pretty sure I've fluffed it but would like putting out of my misery!

Was just wondering, given that Blackstones produce a set every year is there really much difference from year to year. I just bought a load of 2012 stuff off ebay with the aim of sitting the exam at the end of the year - am I putting myself at a major disadvantage by not having the latest 2014 manuals?

So who sat this year, and did you pass? What a difficult set of questions (no quotes please) - I managed to get 1% away with minimal revision but alas still failed (54%, pass mark is 55%) - not bad for someone battling many personal issues! Loads of folk I know failed by 5-10%, 2 of us 'scraped' a fail. Those that did pass ranged between 55 and 68%.

I have two questions about the examinations, as i cannot seem to find the font of knowledge aka 'Reg' is at my station. 1) I can take the exam before the end of my probation? I have been told that you can (excl Accelerated/Suptnintendo). 2) If you take and pass the exam and have a serious dose of OCD about it, can you take the examination every year?

Eligible for Inspector OSPRE exam?

Hello all! I have been promoted to Sergeant very recently. Fortunately for me, I have managed this rather young (28 with 5 years service) and was hoping to get my Inspectors exams out of the way before the inevitable pitter patter of tiny footsteps and the chaos that comes with it! Would you knowledgeable forum gurus have any idea if I need to been confirmed in Sergeants rank (Still 11 months away) before I can apply to take the Inspectors OSPRE exams? I am aware that the exam is in October and would be quite confident in being able to prepare thoroughly, if indeed the rules allow me to do it. Many thanks in advance.

Hi there, I'm looking to take my Sgt exam March 2012. I appreciate it's a bit early but am looking to find the best way to study sooner rather than later. I've heard and read several people's views on the best way to pass this exam ranging from ; Crammer books Blackstones Blackstones Q & A Audio CD'S Checkmate 3 day training course I'm more than willing to put the time, effort and money in to pass this exam as I don't want to take it a second time if I can help it however using all of the above at the same time must be very confusing, am I better off picking 2/3 tried methods and sticking with them ? I appreciate we all have our different methods…

Hello Everyone I am setting up a FREE app for the iphone that will contain a database of multiple choice questions I am to have at least 150 questions, but hope to get far more I have a demo of the app working and I think it's great but I need your help... I need questions !! If you could send me your questions and answers, I will add them to the app. The questions need to be non-copyrighted so please do not cut and paste from other products I found the multiple choice method was the best way to learn when I took my Sergeants exam 6 years ago, passing first time I feel the cost of some current PC products is high. More importantly, I think there shou…

Hi All Wanted to start this in the hope it would help others next year. We all study differently but I thought if we put down what we used then others ould see the most popular methods. Happily I passed Was my 1st attempt and I used Crammer books from November and then combined them with Blackstones online Q&A which were very similar to the exam questions. I do think it would help to also look at the case law in Blackstones Manuals as that would have assisted me more. There is no fluke about the exams and don't listen to people who say they didn't revise. It's down to hardwork and dedication - I always did well in exams in school with l…
